Visiting the Maya.

Most of our vacation in Cancun was spent hanging out at the resort.  It was a beautiful setting and we had an awesome room (probably the best I’ve ever had), but the highlight of the week for me was a side-trip to the ancient Mayan city of Cobo.  I can enjoy resort life for a couple of days, but after that I start feeling the need to get out and find someplace remote, or a hill to climb, or to just get away from people…

Weekend in Atlanta.

Here are the driving/walking directions to find anything in Atlanta:

Follow Peachtree Street until it intersects Peachtree Street NW, then turn right and stay on Peachtree Street NW until it mysteriously becomes Peachtree Street SW, then turn south onto Peachtree Boulevard, staying on it until the junction with Peachtree Circle. Stay in the right lane until you reach what you think is your destination at the intersection of Peachtree Street NE, Peachtree Avenue B12, and Peachtree Lane.  Then, realizing you (and your phone) have no clue where you are, ask someone who doesn’t look like tourist which direction to go.
