Location: Great Smoky Mountains National Park, NC/TN
I spent three days camping in the Smokemont campground on the south side of the park (North Carolina). The Mingus grist mill is only a couple miles down the road from the campground, and just inside the park from the Oconaluftee Visitor Center.
It’s a popular tourist stop, but luckily no tourists had to be edited from this photo.
Here is a shot of my assistant quenching her thirst…
The water channel extends up into the woods with a trail running alongside of it. It was a fascinating piece of work.
